Summary
Optimization of the accuracy of steering work pedals at sedentary workstations with the use of optimal postures regarding the load of lower limbs
Project leader: Tomasz Tokarski Ph.D.
Project summary:
"The aim of this task was to determine the dependence between the load of the joints of the lower limb and the accuracy of steering at workstations equipped with work pedals. To investigate the accuracy of steering, postures optimal regarding the load of the main joints of the lower limbs and the greatest force exerted on the pedal were determined. The load of the lower limbs and the accuracy of steering were measured on a PR1 test stand. Accuracy of steering was measured for 3 different postures of the knee joints; whereas the value of the force on the pedal was measured for 4 different ranges.A simple method of selecting the location of the work pedal regarding the accuracy of steering was developed. An earlier program for assessing workstations equipped with pedals was used in this method."
