Summary

Investigating the application of electronic systems built into personal protective equipment for monitoring changes in protective parameters

Project leader: Grzegorz Gralewicz

Project summary:

The project aimed to develop an application of an electronic system built into personal protective equipment for monitoring changes in protective parameters of that equipment in real use.The initial phase of the project involved:- developing principles for building an electronic system consisting of a block of sensors of the intensity of UV radiation and temperature, a block for analysing measurement data with an implemented decision algorithm and software for archiving measurement data;- constructing a preliminary model of an electronic system for determining in real time the dose of UV radiation;- developing preliminary software controlling the system with an implemented decision algorithm;- conducting comparative tests of calibration measurements of the measuring equipment with the readings of the new system.Next, the principles used in constructing an electronic system for monitoring the temperature of use and the dose of UV radiation during exposure of selected personal protective equipment to predicted conditions in which it would be used were verified.Tests of the electronic system of monitoring UV radiation and temperature confirmed that the system was working properly; there were no irregularities.
