Developing and updating an Internet portal promoting health and safe working conditions through fostering safe behaviour and providing information and examples of good working conditions

The aim of the task was to develop and update an Internet portal on occupational safety and ergonomics that disseminates safety behaviour and proper solutions to problems related to improving safety and working conditions in enterprises, in accordance with state-of-the-art knowledge and current law.Information resources of CIOP-PIB's generally accessible Internet portal were continually broadened. This portal contains, e.g., clearly arranged information resources in the field of occupational safety and ergonomics, an advanced search engine and sub-portals organized according to subject matter with links to other OSH-related web pages. The interface of the Institute's portal was updated twice, thus increasing its efficiency. The portal's software and structure were updated, too, with the graphics of the web pages changed at the same time. The portal's software was configured on the new servers to increase the efficiency of its emission with the use of an Internet connection of 10 Mbps.The number of visitors to the Institute's portal was registered and the users's information needs were analysed.
