Project summary:
The task consisted in constructing a stand for testing the ability of materials and clothing to become electrically charged, its basis elements were - a manikin for testing whether clothing becomes electrically charged - a device for electrical charging by rubbing clothing on a manikin (or clothing materials on a frame) - automatic equipment for taking clothing off a manikin and transferring it to a Faraday cage. The developed test stand was used for measuring the potential of the charge produced on the surface of the manikin when mechanically rubbing the external surface of the clothing and when taking off the clothing and the charge produced on the part of clothing that was taken off. An analysis of the results of testing the ability to become electrically charged by clothing showed that the test stand has an intra-laboratory repeatability in measurements of - the potential of the charge produced on the surface of the manikin when mechanically rubbing and when taking the clothing off the manikin - the charge produced on the part of clothing that was taken off. Two testing procedures were developed for testing clothing for work in explosive atmospheres with the use of a manikin simulating electrostatic parameters of human - testing electrical charging that takes place when rubbing the external surface of the clothing at a test stand - testing electrical charging that takes place when clothing is taken off a manikin with automatic equipment.
