Summary

The use of mixed reality techniques to test optoelectronic protective tools equipped with a vision system

Project leader: Andrzej Grabowski Ph.D. (Eng.), D.Sc. (Eng.)

Project summary:

Basic aim of this study was to develop method enabling the use of the modern mixed reality and virtual reality techniques to test optoelectronic protective tools equipped with the VBPD vision system.
Matrix camera calibration system were developed to determine the internal and external camera parameters as well as to construct computer models of trial objects specified in the report IEC 61496-4-3.
There were also developed the testing methods of the VBPD algorism and zone tolerance in order to
- detect non-moving objects located in various distances from the protective tool;
- detect moving objects;
- check soiling of the optical system and its influence on detection zone;
- check optical masking;
- check lighting disturbances;
- test the presence of periodic structures in the cameras field of view.
