Department of Physical Hazards - Laboratory of Electromagnetic Hazards

Description

Profile of the Laboratory’s activities.

The Laboratory’s activity includes:

  • modeling the processes of electromagnetic field influence on people and material environment, incl.
  • computer dosimetry and experimental research
  • testing and assessment of electromagnetic fields in the environment, in industrial and medical institutions
  • adapting the parameters of measuring equipment and assessment criteria to the changing nature of hazards for people, incl. individual monitoring
  • technical and organizational prevention from hazards of electromagnetic fields.

The Laboratory offers:

  • measurements of electromagnetic fields for assessing environmental exposure or equipment parameters, incl. under ISO-17025 standard based accreditation for research laboratories (0-18 GHz)
  • calibration of equipment for measuring electric and magnetic fields, under ISO-17025 standard based accreditation for calibration laboratories (0-5 GHz)
  • consultancy on assessment and elimination of electromagnetic hazards
  • measurements and assessment of electrostatic hazard in explosion hazard zones
  • measurements of aerosol electrifi cation within a range of 0.3-10 μm, and assessment of the effectiveness of portable electrostatic air filters.
