Development and implementation of testing procedures and criteria for assessing the efficiency of skin protection against the effect of harmful substances

Streszczenie projektu:
The consecutive stages of the task involved, among others, developing a method of testing the efficiency of creams and gels protecting the skin of hands against oil and lubricants and a method of determining anti-adhesive properties for preparations protecting against oil-free paints/lacquers.A number of methods were developed for testing protective properties and criteria for assessing the efficiency of skin protection. The criteria of assessing skin protection were developed on the basis of laboratory tests conducted on 11 protective products available on the market and 18 sun-protecting products. The following were used in the tests: 5% solutions of acids and alkali, a 1% solution of detergents, paints/lacquers, organic solvents, oil/lubricants.Procedures were also developed for assessing the efficiency of skin protection (NC4-01, NC4-02, NC4-03) as well as test instructions related to those procedures (IB-NC4/1, IB-NC4/2, IB-NC4/3). They make it possible to assess the efficiency of skin protection. They also make it possible for users to select the right protective products.
