Development of the activity of the Electromagnetism Centre within the context to implement international requirements to the labour law in Poland.

The EM-Centre has been established to integrate and promote experiences of studies on estimation and reduction of electromagnetic hazards both for labour and life environment. To the EM-Centre scope of activity belong also studies on functioning of the Central Institute for Labour Protection - National Research Institute`s electromagnetic laboratories, calibrating of the measuring equipment, normalising-legislative activity and study literature`s analysis.
The main subject of the EM-Centre`s activity in the time of this study was scientific support for the national institutions to enter the European labour law, included the Council Directive 89/391/EEC and other directives and international recommendations re. Safety and health at work in connection with electromagnetic hazards. The purpose was also to support employers and control bodies obliged to implement the a/m recommendations.
The EM-Centre`s activity was mainly connected with Poland`s participation in negotiations of the Council Directive 2001/40/EEC and was also connected with the works of Working Party on Social Questions. All works have been finished in 2013 with the new Council Directive 2013/35/EEC.
