Assessment of the practical implementation of Directive 89/391/EEC on occupational risk assessment

The task consisted in investigating the implementation of the requirements on occupational risk assessment in 100 enterprises involved in improving working conditions. The developed questionnaire consisted of questions on organizational solutions on occupational risk assessment, the scope of the assessment, and the effects of the implementation. The survey had the form of direct interviews. Information was prepared on the state of the implementation of legal requirements regarding occupational risk assessment, including information on the available tools that support assessment and limit occupational risk, such as checklists and software. Information on case studies was also prepared. They present practical examples of actions directed at preventing occupational risk at the workplace; those examples had been assessed and accepted by reliable organizations. An Internet website, accessible at the CIOP-PIB website, was developed.
