A comparison analysis of electromagnetic occupational hazards characteristic for electrical vehicles and internal-combustion vehicles with electrical equipment

Streszczenie projektu:
The aim of the task was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of electromagnetic hazards and an assessment of workers' exposure to electric and magnetic fields in electrical means of transport and in internal-combustion vehicles with electrical equipment.The developed methodology was the basis for an investigation of electric and magnetic fields in means of transport. The investigations comprised spot measurements of actual values of the flux density of the static magnetic field and the strength of the magnetic and electric fields in the range of frequencies harmonized with the characteristic of the identified sources of fields in individual vehicles. The investigations also comprised registration of the flux density of the magnetic field in the frequency range of 40 Hz to 3 kHz produced by the supply and power transmission systems, and the strength of the electric field in the frequency range of 100 kHz to 18 GHz produced by the communication systems.The results of the investigations and literature data indicate that at present there it is not necessary to conduct routine measurements of electric and magnetic fields in means of transport, either internal-combustion or electrical, as part of periodic assessment of workers' exposure. It is recommended, however, that workers' exposure be identified in relation to individual groups of means of transport, especially electrical ones.
