Development of an updated version of the Occupational Safety and Ergonomics Thesaurus in accordance with modern lexis in the field of occupational safety

"The task resulted in an updated version of the Occupational Safety and Ergonomics Thesaurus maintained by CIOP-PIB, extended by over 5000 descriptors in Polish, on the basis of an updated version of the CIS Thesaurus (2006) and of reports of users of information on their needs regarding terminology. To extend the terminology resources and the functionality of the system, 3 additional language versions have been introduced: English, French and Spanish. Additionally, to increase the efficiency of searching, the collection of ascriptors and relations has been extended. To maintain and extend the Thesaurus, a structure of a reference database has been created in the ALEPH computer library system; it has extended functional possibilities. This database, which is accessible in the systems, can be used directly in procedures of document descriptions and of searching - it is connected with the bibliographic databases of the system, which reflect the collection of CIOP-PIB's library."
